BEYOND BOUNDARIESPampa Dey 2018

This was one of the most rewarding, eye-opening projects I’ve worked on. I went alone, and spent five days with Pampa in Ranibandh, a remote village in northeast Bengal, India. Working solo I was able to immerse myself completely in Pampa’s world. This was her first time back in her village after completing her PhD in Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and I was able to witness her receiving the hero’s welcome she deserved.

Really Pampa’s story deserves a feature length doc, but I’m so pleased the University of Waterloo has honoured her with this short piece, and even more so that they chose me to film it! These stories are why I do what I do.
