I had the great pleasure of accompanying SelfDesign Learning Community’s WildEarth program this past June, 2016, on their year-end trip to Bella Coola, on the Pacific Northwest Coast of British Columbia. WildEarth is an experiential learning program that takes youth to some of the wildest places in BC and teaches environmental stewardship, wilderness survival skills, and builds connection to the land and to each other. I created a short film highlighting the overall awesomeness of the program, and in the process experienced a June-uary snow fall, an alpine canoe portage, and a traditional Nuxalk wedding – the trip’s highlight, in my opinion. I continue to be surprised and grateful for the places this camera takes me.
